Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) - users in more than one GVO

USERS WITH ACCESS TO MORE THAN ONE GVO

When a user account (email) has access to more than one GVO the most stringent MFA requirement is used.

What does this mean for you ...

When you enter your username and password to sign into GVO the system will look at the MFA requirements for each of the GVOs where you have an account and apply the most stringent rules - so if ANY of the GVOs have MFA switched on (suggested or required) then the MFA process will be required (registration then subsequent login).

After registration and when it is time to generate an MFA Login code then the Trusted Device option will behave as follows:

  1. If all the GVOs with MFA switched on default to 'Trusted Device on' then the checkbox will be pre-filled with a tick
  2. If any of the GVOs are not set up to have Trusted Device check-box pre-filled then it will not be pre-filled.
  3. If any of the GVOs do not allow Trusted Devices then the 'set as Trusted Device' will not be visible at all.

If Trusted Device is available then the length of time it will be available is the SHORTEST time from all the GVOs.
