Top Level Folder in Main Menu - Add, Edit, Move, Delete

Adding a new folder or file to the Main Navigator or Main Menu (GVO Manager only)

To add a new folder to the main navigator (top level folder, left hand menu) follow the instructions below. It is a two step process - firstly create the folder and then move it to the main menu.

Note: It will only be possible to do this if you are a GVO 'Manager' - if you need a folder or document adding to the Main Navigator please contact your local GVO Manager (you can find out who has the role of Manager by using the ''Users, Boards and Reporting' link on the Main Navigator).

1. Navigate to the ‘Key Documents’ folder (or any other top level folder - it does not matter which folder you choose)...

2. Create a folder using the ‘Actions/New Folder’ button – name the folder as required, select 'standard' for a document folder or 'policy' for a policy folder, add the description, decide on the 'sort order' for the folder and assign any access restrictions necessary then ‘Submit’. Below in this example we have created a folder called DEMO FOLDER

3. Navigate to the new folder and use the ‘Actions/Folder Properties’ followed by ‘Actions/Move this Folder’ options (so, a two step process) – you will see a ‘check box’ at the top titled ‘Include in the main menu’ – select this then press ‘OK’

4. The new folder will appear in the Main Navigator. The order of the main navigator option can be changes by the GVO Manager in Settings/Appearance.

Notes:

Only the local GVO Manager can change the order of the Main Navigator. This is done via the 'Settings' (Appearance) option and used 'drag and drop' to move the folders into the desired order - remember to press SUBMIT to save the revised order.

If the GVO has 'Rooms' that you have access to then the folder can be moved to the main menu of a room rather than the main GVO menu.

2. How to Edit, Move or Delete a top level folder in the Main Menu

To Edit, Move or Delete a top level folder navigate to that folder and user the actions button (assuming your user profile allows this).

To Edit the folder (to rename etc) use Actions/Edit Folder Properties

To Delete or Move the folder use Actions/Folder Properties followed by Actions/Move this folder or Actions/Delete this Folder

Note: Deleting the folder will delete any sub-folders and files as well - if this is done in error the folder and contents can be recovered from the waste-bin by the GVO Manager
