When a GVO is used in a MAT and is set up in 'MAT mode' then both 'User groups' and 'board groups' are available.
User groups can be used for folder/file access control, policy and task assignment and also for email notifications
Board Groups can be used for all the functions of a user group but are also used to determine what personal details are visible to other GVO users.
Only members of the same 'board' can see email and telephone details - if this is not the case then this information is 'redacted'. The board groups are also used to link a user to a particular board (or boards) and are used as part of the 'Governor Records functionality.
Good Practice: If the GVO is in 'MAT mode' it is strongly advised to use 'board groups' rather than 'User groups' to avoid duplication of work.
