Notification emails - CC or BCC

When a notification email is sent out (via the 'Share' or 'Notify' function) then the email contains the list of recipients in the To: list of the email.

Some schools/MATs prefer not to share email addresses (especially in a large MAT) and so there is an option to have the recipients in the Bcc: list so they are not visible.

The advantage is that email addresses are hidden but the possible disadvantage is that each recipient cannot see who else received the notification.

When BCC is set:

When a recipient receives a notification email pressing 'Reply' will reply to the sender of the notification. Any communications with other Governors will need to be done via the 'Comments' or 'Share' function. When a user sends a notification BCC they will get a copy as well (confirming it was sent).

The decision about how to operate is a local one and the local GVO Manager can set this in the 'Settings' screen (only available to the GVO Manager).

GVO Manager Only: To change the setting for notification emails go to the Settings page and use the checkbox shown below in the Basics section then press 'Submit'.
