GVO stores the Governor Records for Trustees and Governors in single schools and also in MATs (one set of records for each board in the MAT) - the record includes the date of appointment and the planned date of retirement.
The weekly GVO newsletter provides a warning alert to the GVO Manager when a trustee or governor is due to 'retire' via the weekly newsletter. The warning period is set by the local GVO Manager (initial setting is 60 days - contact the GVO Manager to change the warning period). This allows time for the board to plan for re-appointment or to appoint a new trustee/governor.
